Social impact on the agenda in Lisbon

Social impact was the phrase of the day in Lisbon last week, as attendees came together to discuss and promote change at the annual Impacto Social 2016 (IS2016) conference.

IS2016 saw ten Social Return on Investment (SROI) studies presented to attendees and panel discussions involving a range of academics, government officials, business analysts and experts in the social impact sector.

Graham Randles, NEF Consulting’s Managing Director, kicked off the conference by delivering the keynote address.

“It was a pleasure to speak at the conference, and inspiring to see so many new SROI practitioners ready to present their studies and have them critiqued by their peers,” Mr Randles said afterwards.

“I’m excited by the possibilities for new projects and ideas that will come out of the time we’ve spent here today.”

Organisations involved in the conference included CASES, a cooperative membership organisation that supports the social economy, and Montepio, a mutual financial services organisation focused on social responsibility.

Montepio’s Foundation is a financial backer of 4Change, the social enterprise responsible for organising IS2016. Click here to find out more about 4Change. More information about NEF Consulting’s work to help organisations understand and measure their impact can be found here.
