Office Networks
Depending on the size of your office (both square footage and number of people) it's possible a wireless (WiFi) or wired connection may be beneficial. Several years back, it was possible to run your own cable for computer networks. But as it's been spreading so widely, suddenly most states have begun requiring a permit to do so; so the charges for deploying a wired network can be costly. Cable is about $150 for 1,000 feet and figure on about 100 feet per computer station as a good rule of thumb (single story 2000 sq foot office).
WiFi is closely approaching the speed and reliability of a wired connection. Currently, most office of a 10/100 MB wired connection. WiFi is fairly stable with-in around 100 feet (obstructed view) sustaining about 30 MB. Different brands advertise as much as 108 (54 MB and they add a "speed booster" to double it). This is achievable, as long as you aren't more than 20 feet and there are no walls in your way. We would be happy to recommend some products to fit your environment.
