Report launched on boosting the UK’s co-operative sector

A new report from the New Economics Foundation (NEF) looks at methods to double the size of the UK’s co-operative sector.

Written by NEF’s Sara Mahmoud and Andrew Pendleton, along with Matthew Lawrence, Co-operatives Unleashed looks at how enterprise can “serve the interests of the people it employs and those in the communities around them”.

The report highlights five steps to boosting the co-operative sector, including a new legal framework for co-operatives and deepening co-operative capabilities through a Co-operative Development Agency among others.
